| Senior Vice-Commander General Ronald E. Fischer and Commander Charles P. McDowell of the District of Columbia, and their Companions, welcome the National Commandery and other State Offficers and delegates to the 45th Biennial Convention, which will be held on May 3-6, 2001, in our Nation’s capitol The headquarters hotel will be the University Club, located at 1135 16th Street. This is a historic private club in the heart of Washington, D.C., only four blocks from the White House. The meeting will follow the usual format with a Thursday evening reception for Delegates and their spouses. Friday morning we will have our first business session while spouses and guests tour and visit points of interest in the city. After lunch we will have committee meetings. Late in the afternoon we will begin the evening program and meal. Saturday morning we will resume with our second business meeting, followed by the meeting of the new National Coucil. Spouses and guests will continue sight-seeing in the morning, and all of us will join them in the afternoon. The evening program will include a reception, banquet, and the installation of our new national officers. Besides the selection of the new National Council, we have many important matters to discuss. For example, we want to develop new strategies for recruiting new members and for creating new commanderies. We are interested in learning about the innovtive ways the larger commanderies have been sustaining and expanding their membership. Our acting Quartermaster promises to have a full line of items available for sale to those attending the convention. This page will updated to reflect greater detail about the convention as that information comes availble. |
